DTA Aircraft to begin U.S. flight testing of the JP1 in Arizona, after 200+ hours flown in France

The two-seat hybrid-electric personal eVTOL will fly in the United States in 2027. The aircraft is on display at the 2026 NBAA-BACE, Booth 6200, Atrium Lobby.

Scottsdale, Arizona. October 19, 2026. The JP1 has been flying in France for more than 200 hours. Its next flight will be an American one. DTA Aircraft will open the United States flight test campaign of the JP1, a two-seat hybrid-electric personal eVTOL, in Arizona in 2027.

The aircraft will be on display at the 2026 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), Oct. 20-22, 2026, in Las Vegas, NV, at Booth 6200 in the Atrium Lobby. What sits in the Atrium Lobby is the flying aircraft, not a mock-up and not a scale model.

"This show has seen a lot of eVTOL mock-ups. We brought an actual flying aircraft with 200 hours behind it. Every spec about the JP1 rests on that." Théo Parant, CEO, DTA Aircraft.

The JP1 flies two full hours with two people on board. It refuels in minutes at any airfield, because its onboard range extender runs on jet fuel, the fuel business aviation already buys everywhere. There is no charging stop and no charging infrastructure to build. Eight rotors keep it flying with up to four propeller failures, as long as each boom keeps one working propeller, and a whole-airframe ballistic parachute is the last layer. The autopilot flies the aircraft. The pilot decides where it goes.

DTA is not a startup entering aviation. The company has built aircraft in France since 1990, with 595+ aircraft sold across 33+ countries and 300,000+ cumulated flight hours. The JP1 is its first eVTOL, and it was engineered long before it was ever sold.

"What we flew in France is a flight test program, not a demonstration. We know what this aircraft does. Flying in the U.S. is a matter of registration now." Théo Parant, CEO, DTA Aircraft.

Reservations are open with a $12,000 deposit, $10,000 of it refundable, which counts toward the aircraft price and locks it at $385,000. The first 50 aircraft off the line, chassis 1 to 50, form the Launch Edition and deliver in 2028. After chassis 50, deliveries move to 2029. Each Launch Edition aircraft carries an engraved plate with its chassis number, an invitation to the first flight of the JP1 in the United States and to the assembly line in Arizona, a standing invitation to the annual owners' gathering, and priority allocation for DTA's next aircraft.

DTA is hosting a press briefing at Booth 6200 on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 11 a.m., with the JP1 on the stand. High-resolution images, in-flight b-roll and the JP1 specification sheet are available on request. #NBAA2026
